Profile

I have been a practising artist and designer for most of my life. My main interests derive from both natural stimuli and the urban environment to create and provoke a different sense of perception. My design and illustration evolve in a reactive and enquiring way to the brief, whether it be for a book or magazine cover or illustrations. I apply traditional hands-on methods, with paints, ink, printmaking, hand written script – but I also adopt the digital when elements need to combine.

I was awarded a BA (Hons) in Fine Art back in 1979 and a while later I completed an MA in Graphic Design and Communication (Research) and was awarded a Distinction.

My paintings have been exhibited in galleries in Cork Street London; Bedford Park, Chiswick; The Chapel Row Gallery, Bath; The Gallery, Barnes; Hampton Fountain Gallery; Lloyds, Guildford; Lloyds London; Ham House. Sole exhibitions at Wimbledon Library and Teddington Landmark Centre. Some of my work is in Private Collections and in the Permanent Collection at the Whitworth gallery, Manchester.
